Fast and Foolproof

Here’s another of the envelope albums created this fall. Lots of punches and Petaloo flowers.  The paper is from a 6x6 stack by Memory Box that I’ve been hording for quite some time.  Love the color palate, lends itself to lots of great photo spreads.

What I really love about creating these albums is that the base is a 6 x 6” pad.  Not a lot of wieldy paper that has to be cut down. Since the pages are 6”wide, just pull it out from the stack, cut the heights to 4 1/4”, ink and adhere. Fast and foolproof.

This one also has the file folder pages for some added interest.
Enjoy!

Prima Envelope Album

Here’s another of the envelope albums I created this Fall.  This one’s done with some Prima paper, flowers and a sweet Prima butterfly on the cover.
For the base of the cover I used a paper doily that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine  - LOVE that stuff!  I also used it on the white Prima flower. The doily was done in chartreuse and Mustard while the flower was sprayed with Peach.  There are some skeleton leaves peaking out and a wooden owl that I pained green (why not!)

Besides the envelope pages, I created 2 small file folders that can be used for small photos or some journaling. The file folders were created with the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker. Love when you can figure out different uses for a tool. Enjoy!

So, So Cute Baby Album

I just had to share this Baby Boy Photo Album with you. I as so much fun creating it and it gave me an opportunity to do some more exploring with envelope albums.

It starts out with Echo Park’s “Bundle of Joy” Collection. I added pearlized envelopes in 2 shades of green and I was on my way! Sturdy chipboard covers ensure it'll take lots of handling.

The envelopes are opened and finished on one end creating a pocket. Each pocket holds a tag with a mat for a 4x6" photo. Journaling or another photo can be placed on the reverse side. Enjoy!

Frosty Sparkly Winter Photo Album

Way back in October I started making envelope albums, I was on a tear.  Made 10 of them in 2 weeks! Most of them got sold during shows but I still have a few that I finally got a chance to take pictures of.  I’ll be showing you those in the next few posts but I thought I’d start off with one I just finished.
It’s perfect for the Winter photos and I’m not even talking Christmas! I can see lots of skiing pics, skating, snow angels, sledding and snow mobile photos in here too!

The base of the album is a plain old white envelope.  For this one I used policy envelopes and cut them down to a shorter width. When you cut it down, it gives you a perfect place for a pocket. So I did! I made them all into lined pockets.

I had a really good time with this one and the photos don’t show all the sparkle going on! I wanted to mimic the sparkle in the snow and the cover looks like it was dusted with a fine blanket of the stuff. Love it!

Do You Teach?

Whenever I'm at a show, I always get asked if I teach.  Of course I do!  I was a high school English teacher before I became a high school administrator, it's in my blood. I can remember playing "school" with my brother when he was 2 and I was 5. My daughter has carried on the tradition. She too started out as a high school English teacher and is now an administrator. I guess it's how we Burgs women roll.

I now teach at Paper Niche in Davie and I always announce my next class here on my blog first.
My next class is December 14 and the link at Paper Niche's site to sign up for that class is here:

paperniche.com/proddetail.asp?prod=hldypprbgalbm&cat=87

That link will also take you to the home page where you can sign up for their newsletter. New classes are always announced in the newsletter and you can always see the actual project we'll be doing by visiting the shop.

From the home page you can also access the "Shopping" drop down menu and go to Scrapbooking. There you'll find all the currently scheduled classes along with the Crops that the store hosts. The cool thing is that you can sign up for the classes and crops right there - on line!

Hope to see you at my next class! Here's a peek at what you'll be creating.

7 Gypsies Goodness

I thought I'd show you a Vintage Inspired Photo Tray I'm submitting to the 7 Gypsies Challenge here. It was created using one of the 7 Gypsies Photo Trays (love them!), Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight and Tattered Pinecone dies, some stamping and Stickles goodness.  Enjoy!

Southern Handcraft Society Fall Show

Way back in October I showed you some Halloween Houses I was working on. I thought I'd show you where they ended up.
I was introduced to the Southern Handcraft Society by my good friend Dorothy, and I'm so glad she did.  This is the new direction I'm taking in unloading selling all the creations I make. In South Florida there are several chapters of the Society and I tested the waters by entering some of my work in one of their shows.  I had good sales and even better feedback from this group of like-minded crafters. Here's some Eye Candy to go with your morning coffee.
