Must Be Spring

Had to share with you what my hubby found in the yard this week.  It's been empty since we found it as it's about waist high in the bush between our garage door and a really loud, really hot air conditioning unit. Don't know what Momma Bird was thinking!

This may be my last post for a while.  Husband & I are doing a Rhine River Cruise and will be gone for 2 weeks.  Don't know what kind of internet service we'll have on a barge (!) but if I can upload some pix, I'll share with you.

Be sure to sign up for the "DREAM" Class at Paper Niche when it's posted.  I incorporated lots of Tim Goodness and can't wait to share it with you.

Class Goodness and a Sneak Peek

Last Wednesday I taught the Meander Album at Paper Niche in Plantation.  Had a blast and met two really nice ladies who are now Meander experts.  Meet Karen and Mary Ann.  I know I’ll see them in future classes; we had a really good time.

In June I’ve got an awesome class planned.  Spent part of the day on Tuesday hashing it out at Paper Niche and making sure I had secured a time spot for it.  I will tell you it involves wood, lots of Tim Holtz products, and would make an awesome Father’s Day gift.  It’ll be on display at the shop soon, but till then, here’s a sneak peek.  I’m off to add some distress goodness and finish it now.

Can you guess what word we'll be creating?
Wishing you a Happy Easter!

I have a nephew who's getting married this Saturday.  I figured a Wedding Album that they could put photos in and some journaling too would be appropriate, so I made the happy couple one.  Actually, I made more than one.  Figured since I finally found paper I liked and it was coming up on Wedding Season anyway, I might as well make more than one and list one on my ETSY site.  Love how it turned out, just don't like the photos.  It's really had to photograph black, white, grey and silver without it looking really dull or with a yellow cast.  I bet I took 200 pictures over two days and I'm still not satisfied with what I posted.  I'll keep working on them, in the mean time, here's some pictures of the album. You can also see them here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/72246967/wedding-photo-album  Enjoy!  I'm going to go play with my camera now!

Meander Album Update

Long time ago I promised pictures of my class at Paper Niche this week.  Life intervened, and I forgot about it.  Since the class is this week, I figured it would be a good time to show you what we’ll be making.

The album goes by several names – Meander, Maze or Puzzle Album.  It got its name from the folding and cutting techniques used to create it.  Believe it or not, the base is created from one sheet of 12x12” scrapbook paper.  Once you master the technique, it’s quite simple to create and lends itself to lots of interpretations.  Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Fouth of July, A favorite sports team, just about any subject can be the base for creating the album.

The class is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.  Students will have their choice of the Red or Yellow Album.  Come join the fun!

Puerto Rico Scrapbook Event ...The Iron Edition

I’m SO excited.  I’m going to The  Puerto Rico Scrapbook Event . . . The Iron Edition in June for a scrapbook workshop with a BUNCH of big names in the industry.  Margie Romney, Donna Downey, The Glitz Girls, Heidi Swapp, Trisha Ladouceur Ashlee Jorgensen(DCWV), Becky from Kand Company, and Stephanie Barnard from Sizzix…..  and (hold on to your hat) Tim Holtz!  The Workshop is June 11 & 12 with a special VIP session on June 10.  This is going to be a birthday (June 13) gift from my Hubby, he just doesn’t know it yet!
How did I find out about it?  Was internet surfing and came upon an announcement for it. E-mailed the sponsor – the wonderful Yamille – and held my breath.  Meanwhile, went over to T!m’s site and, low and behold, there it was listed in his calendar! You can find out about it here:

                www.puertoricoscrapbookevent.com
When I first went to the Iron Edition site, the VIP Package was sold out.  Yamille sent back an email that there were 5 new VIP Packages that opened up so I SNAGGED ONE!  The VIP package adds classes on Friday from Tim, Margie Romney and the Glitz Girls: how fun will that be?

This is the third year her shop has sponsored the event and I just know I’m going to enjoy my Birthday! All I need to do now is book my flight………..

Get it going!

I know, I just can't seem to find time to add stuff to this blog.  I'm going to try to be more productive but looking out into the e-verse, I'm REALLY behind the times! Depressing!

Anyway, I've been working on a Wedding Album that I'll be giving to my nephew later this month when he gets married.  Pictures in the next post.  Tomorrow I'm headed up to Orlando for Scrapbook EXPO.  Looking forward to some crop time and taking some classes.  But we all know the main reason I'm going is to SHOP!  Casey, my "Pack Mule", won't be with me so I know I'll have to make several trips up to the room before I'm done.  Looking forward to seeing some of the new releases from CHA Winter that are coming out.

I'll post when I get back and share with you some of the loot I bring back!
